Busca Summer News 2012
Greetings from the FINGER LAKES of upstate New York. It is great now being able to work and relax close to home after a busy conference season in June. In particular it was a pleasure being at this year's American Library Association Conference in Anaheim, California. Aside from enjoying the brilliant Disney fireworks lighting-up the night sky, there was plenty of mental stimulation in the exhibits area and meetings with librarians!
Right now I would like to promote 2 books that were self-published this year by gifted authors. Both titles are available from BUSCA.
Victor was born in 1950 in Jacksonville, Illinois and he received an English Literature MA at Colorado University-Boulder. In 2009 - 2010 Mr. Pearn instructed English majors at Jining University in Qufu, China. Many of the poems in this collection were written during that overseas experience. BUSCA, Inc. previously published DEVIL DOGS & JARHEADS by V. Pearn.
From page 31, "Beginning a painting is like a monologue; there is a feeling of unlimited choices with some spatial or color, or for me, usually, narrative idea. And I start imposing it on the canvas, dictating the terms. But very soon the canvas has a voice and starts talking back to me and it feels like a dialogue. This dialogue has a life of its own and the exchange is either friendly or exasperating or energetic but is a two-way communication." Gillian is a retired professor from the Arts Department of Cornell University. She currently resides in California.
BUSCA proudly continues to source print titles, films, and other formats from publishers of all sizes and nationalities! Also, we enjoy the opportunity to occasionally publish titles under our own BUSCA brand!
With all best wishes,
Michael D. Cooper, President
